Just right for butter!
This works very well for what it is sold for, and that is a BUTTER dish. I emphasize this because it got a one star from someone because it was too small for cheese.

Tinny and cheap. Very light weight, so it will slip around on the table quite easily. The stainless steel is low grade and shows small rust spots after washing. The lid is lightweight plastic.
Perfect size for my queso fresco, but the top is cheap plastic, I know is going to break easily.
When I first opened this butter dish, I was disappointed by how thin and flimsy the plastic top was. I have had to be extra careful when washing it to avoid cracking it. Now, after the most recent washing, the not-so-stainless steel plate has begun to rust. It seems to have a very thin stainless coating over regular steel, and apparently, the butter knife scratched that thin coating. If I had purchased this at Dollar Tree, I’d just throw it away and figure I’d gotten what I paid for, but this was much more than a dollar and much less than I had expected.
This arrived well packaged and in perfect condition. I love the round shape and the dish is sturdy enough to carry on a tray and not have it slide around.
Dish is lighter weight than I expected, but otherwise it is great for cheese balls or amish type butter.
It is so light that you need two hands to get butter on a knife. Also the indent on the lid that serves as a handle was not easy to use without dropping the lid.
