Good quality
I’ve used Zyliss products before and they’ve always been high-quality, this slicer is no exception. At first the slices were thicker in the middle and thinner toward the sides, caused by a blade that was slightly bent (see image). The blade of a cheese slicer needs to be very thin to reduce the amount of friction so the slicer can be easily pulled through the trees without tearing. This was easy to correct. I wrapped the end of my thumb with athletic tape so my thumb wouldn’t get cut in case I slipped. Then I gently pushed the blade down in the middle and observed what happened. I went slowly and it took 15 or 20 gentle nunges to get the blade straight but now the slices are uniform in thickness.A great little product that does a superb job but you may have to take a few minutes to get the blade perfectly straight. It’s worth the effort. Highly recommend.
This works well but it is awkward if not used to slicing this way. My husband prefers the one with the wire and roller instead.
Like the product but you need to be very careful when cutting because it is super sharp cut myself twice
Dial has a poor level of thickness differences and both sides of the sliding dial do not match up well, giving a thicker slice on one side than the other.. I thought this would be much more variable like a similarly built product I once owned, but I was very wrong.. cannot get very thin slices, only quite thick or needlessly deep cuts that I could simply use a knife for..About to throw this out once I find a better replacement.
Have a large block of cheese? Yeah no. Have a small block of cheese? Only if you want to slice your self. One of the worst designed products when it comes to usability.Out some what sharp and easy to clean. Mostly because you won’t use it
Works well, and as intended. Sometimes a softer cheese may need a half hour or so of refrigeration to firm so that thin even slices can be made. Zyliss has always made good products, though not as durable since changing production to China.
